Ideally situated in Spean Bridge, The Smiddy House is only 11 miles from Fort William, the outdoor capital of the Highlands. A 4 star gold graded accommodation by Visit Scotland and the AA, also recommended in the Michelin Guide and “Scotland the Best”, our 4 en-suite rooms are characterful of a traditional Highland dwelling, each individually designed and named after Scottish places which are also named whiskies. For luxury and spacious accommodation we recommend The Bryson suite.

Our Spean Bridge restaurant, Russell’s has been awarded 2 AA rosettes for 11 consecutive years, we source the best of Scottish and local produce including scallops from the Island of Mull, Arisaig prawns and salmon from Wester ross, our dishes concentrate on flavour and texture without being complicated.

We are closed on Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th October, Sunday 29th and Monday 30th October.

Also closed 5th – 30th November. Re-open on Friday 1st December.

Celebrate the New Year with good food, fine wine and great company.

30th Dec: Arrive between 3.00 and 4.00pm and enjoy tea, scones and Prosecco. Dinner served from 6.30pm.

31st Dec: 5 course Gourmet dinner and toast in the bells with a glass of champagne.

1st January: Afternoon tea from 3 – 4.00pm with a cocktail of your choice. Dinner served from 6.30pm.

Please note there is no entertainment provided with our Festive break.
